Fulton MD Pediatric Eye Care
At Maple Lawn Eye Care Centers our two expert and highly-trained doctors are Dr. Jacalyn R. Ely and Dr. Sanford R. Cohen. They are able to provide the entire family with the very best in eye care. Visiting our office is a pleasant and stress free experience. Parents bring their children to our practice to see our doctors who are experts in
Fulton MD pediatric eye care. If you want to be sure that your child’s vision is as well developed as it is supposed to be, or determine if there is indeed a vision problem that is interfering with their learning, we can help. We are trained behavioral optometrists who are specially trained to prevent, treat and enhance your child’s visual performance. When we examine your child’s eyes we: perform a full series of near-point vision tests, because that is where most learning-related vision problems occur; we provide full vision care including vision therapy and visual guidance; and we monitor your child’s progress at scheduled intervals.
Our
Fulton MD pediatric eye care involves identifying a child’s vision problem, determining how long the problem has been in existence, and figuring out how other sensory motor systems are being affected. We then determine which treatment options will work best. At times, we will bring in other professionals. Our recommendations for your child may include: corrective eyeglasses to correct vision conditions such as nearsightedness, farsightedness, and or astigmatism; therapeutic glasses which promote awareness of objects and re-integration of the eyes hands and body; preventive glasses to keep nearsightedness from developing; vision therapy to help children learn how to use their visual systems more efficiently and effectively; referral to an expert in a different field such as a psychologist, reading tutor; or perceptual motor therapist, for example. We will provide annual follow-up care to make sure that your child’s vision development is progressing, and that no new problems are developing. If you would like your child to be evaluated by one of our child vision experts, contact us at Maple Lawn Eye Care Center for an appointment.
